| Dear Miss Katie--This is the picture of the girl you have heard about, but not "the" girl. We had it taken last fall during a cut-up streak. It looks a lot like we might be posing for a wedding picture, but believe me we are NOT. Did you get a card I sent you from the train near Riverside? Could you read the German? And say, did you get all the stuff put safely into Lena's trunk without her finding it out? I hope so. Lena said you went to Kalona Sat night. Had a good time, as usual, I suppose. My, but I wish i could have gone to the Literary, too. Maybe i can go next time. How is Katie? Jack had no stamp so will cover the rest of the space. I have the dandiest room you ever saw. Its papered with light blue paper and is fixed up in fine shape. But no finer than will be the rooms at home when you get moved into them. I just must come home when it is all finished.
